This Privacy Policy explains how NailRetouch ("we", "Developer", "Service") collects, uses and protects information when you use our Telegram bot @nailretouch_bot and the website nailretouch.art.

This policy supplements the Standard Telegram Bot Privacy Policy, which also applies to your use of the Service.

1. Key Terms

Service — the NailRetouch Telegram bot (@nailretouch_bot) and the website nailretouch.art.

Developer — the operator of NailRetouch.

User — any person who interacts with the Service via their Telegram account.

Photo — any image file sent by the User to the bot for processing.

Credits — prepaid units purchased by the User to access photo retouching features.

2. Data We Collect

We collect only the minimum data necessary to operate the Service.

From Telegram (automatically):

  • Telegram User ID
  • First name as provided in your Telegram profile
  • Language code

Provided by you:

  • Photos you send to the bot for retouching
  • Purchase history of Credits (Telegram Stars transactions)

Automatically collected:

  • Anonymous usage statistics (number of requests, error rates). This data is not linked to your identity.

3. How We Handle Your Photos

Photos are the core data processed by the Service. We treat them with strict care:

  • Photos are transmitted over encrypted channels and processed solely to perform the retouching you requested.
  • Photos are automatically and permanently deleted from our servers within 7 days after the retouched result is delivered to you.
  • Photos are never shared with third parties, used for advertising, sold, or used to train AI models.
  • Photos are never reviewed manually by human operators.
  • Retouched output photos are deleted on the same schedule.

4. Automated Processing & AI

The Service uses an automated AI model to process your photos. By using the Service, you acknowledge that:

  • All photo processing is performed automatically, without human review.
  • The AI model performs skin retouching only — removing redness, micro-wounds and post-manicure irritation. It does not analyze, classify or store any biometric data.
  • No automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects are made based on your photos.
  • You retain full copyright and ownership of both original and retouched photos.

5. Payments & Credits

The Service uses Telegram Stars as its payment method.

  • We do not collect, see or store any bank card details, payment card numbers or financial account information. All payment processing is handled entirely by Telegram.
  • We store your Credits balance (the number of retouches remaining) linked to your Telegram User ID.
  • We store a record of Credits purchased (amount, date) for the purpose of supporting disputes and fulfilling tax obligations.
  • This transaction history is retained for 3 years as required by applicable law, then permanently deleted.

6. Data Storage & Security

  • All data is stored on servers protected by industry-standard security measures, including encryption at rest and in transit.
  • Access to user data is strictly limited to systems required to operate the Service.
  • No employees or contractors have routine access to individual user photos.
  • In the event of a data breach affecting your personal data, we will notify affected users within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach, in accordance with applicable law.

7. Third Parties

We use a limited number of third-party services to operate the Service:

  • Telegram — the platform through which the Service is delivered. Subject to the Telegram Privacy Policy.
  • AI processing provider — processes photos on our behalf under a data processing agreement with equivalent data protection obligations. Photos are not retained by the provider after processing is complete.
  • Analytics — we use Google Analytics and Yandex Metrika on nailretouch.art to collect anonymous website traffic data. No personal data from the bot is shared with these services.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data to any third party.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your country of residence, you may have the following rights:

  • Access — request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
  • Deletion — request permanent deletion of all your data. Because photos are auto-deleted within 7 days, the primary data subject to deletion requests is your Credits balance and transaction history.
  • Correction — request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Restriction — request that we restrict processing of your data.
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 11. We will respond within 30 days.

9. Users in the European Union (GDPR)

  • The legal basis for processing your Telegram ID and usage data is legitimate interest (providing the Service).
  • The legal basis for processing your photos is performance of a contract (you have requested retouching).
  • The legal basis for retaining transaction history is legal obligation (tax and accounting requirements).
  • You have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority (DPA) if you believe your rights are not being upheld.
  • We do not transfer your personal data outside the EEA except to services covered by adequacy decisions or appropriate safeguards under GDPR Article 46.

10. Minors

The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify active users via the bot. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
